SUMMARY:SommerLeseClub 2025 - multimedia reading experience
DESCRIPTION:The summer reading club is a vacation program in which people of all ages can participate as a team or individually. Enjoyment of media\, creativity and shared experiences are the focus of the program\, which will be offered again this year at the Gronau public library. Getting together with other interested people\, meeting and exchanging ideas\, meeting each other both online and offline – the multimedia version of the Summer Reading Club combines all of this – and across all generations.   \nReaders can take part together as a team: From little brother to big cousin to grandma and grandpa. Whether with your closest friend or with the whole gang. The reading club thus becomes a joint activity for families and friends. But even if you want to take part on your own\, you can easily become your own reading hero.    \nMedia stamps can be earned and saved in a logbook in various ways\, whether by listening to a story on audiobooks and Tonies® or in the classic way per book read – the main thing is that there is no shortage of fun. In order to have successfully participated\, solo participants must have collected at least three stamps in the logbook by the end of the vacations\, teams should have earned at least one stamp per team member.  \nIf you like\, you can embellish and optimize your logbook again this time and give free rein to your creativity. Events attended during the SLC period are also entered. The logbook can be kept offline or online.   \nBooks can be rated or book tips can be viewed via the virtual access. You can also see which team member is currently working on which book. Anyone who has collected all the necessary stamps\, whether analog or digital\, is sure to receive a certificate. There is also the chance of being awarded a reading Oscar.    \nThis year’s vacation campaign will once again be held at both locations of the public library in Gronau and Epe. \nThe Summer Reading Club is one of the largest reading promotion projects funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 01.01.2024\, it has been under the sponsorship of the Düsseldorf District Government\, Specialist Department for Public Libraries NRW.  \n

SUMMARY:Clemens Wieschebrink - Cooperation exhibition on the occasion of his 125th birthday
DESCRIPTION:Two galleries – one artist: exhibition to mark the 125th birthday of Clemens Wieschebrink  \nTo mark the 125th birthday of the Westphalian artist Clemens Wieschebrink (1900-1971)\, Georgs Galerie in Gronau-Epe and Galerie Kappmeier in Ahaus are presenting a joint retrospective of his work. The joint exhibition runs from August 16 to September 20\, 2025 and offers a comprehensive insight into the multifaceted work of the painter from Ochtrup. Under the title “Clemens Wieschebrink – Cooperation exhibition on the occasion of his 125th birthday”\, both galleries are showing a carefully coordinated selection of key works from various phases of the artist’s career. It becomes clear how Wieschebrink’s work fluctuated stylistically between figuration and abstraction – always with people at the center.     \nA life for art \nBorn on August 15\, 1900 in Münster\, Wieschebrink spent his formative artistic years in Wuppertal\, Hamburg\, Munich and Paris. As a student of Karl Hofer at the Vereinigte Staatsschulen in Berlin (1927-1932)\, he developed his characteristic style: a combination of clear contours\, a broken color palette and an increasingly abstract view of people. He grew up as the son of the ophthalmologist Heinrich Wieschebrink and his wife Amalie Wieschebrink. His mother was born Laurenz and\, as co-partner of Textilwerke Laurenz in Ochtrup\, she was able to support her son financially as he took his first steps into the art world and also enabled him to travel.    \nTwo places – one homage \nThe two participating galleries have different focuses: While Georg’s gallery in Gronau-Epe presents late works from the mid-1940s to the mid-1950s\, Galerie Kappmeier in Ahaus is dedicated to the artist’s entire creative period. The artworks in Georg’s gallery are not for sale – the paintings in the Kappmeier gallery mostly are.  \nOpening hours & events \nThe exhibition can be viewed at the Kappmeier Gallery from August 16\, 2025 (Tuesdays to Fridays 10-12:30 and 14-18 and Saturdays from 10-14) and at Georg’s Gallery from August 17\, 2025 from 14 (and Fridays during market hours from 9 to 12).  Admission is free of charge. There is also another event highlight: on August 30\, 2025 (2 pm to approx. 5:30 pm)\, art lovers can take part in a guided art.bike.tour\, during which both galleries will be visited by bike.
