DESCRIPTION:On Auschwitz Memorial Day: “La Vita è Bella – Life is beautiful” at Cinetech Gronau \nGronau\, January 2026 – Once again this year\, Haus Lebenstein invites you to a special moment of remembrance to mark the day of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. On Tuesday\, January 27\, 2026\, at 7.30 pm\, the award-winning film “La Vita è Bella – Life is Beautiful” will be shown at Cinetech Gronau.  \nThe screening takes place in cooperation with Cinetech Gronau and with the support of the Förderkreis Alte Synagoge Epe e.V. \nThe 1997 film by and starring Roberto Benigni tells the story of a Jewish father who tries to protect his young son from the atrocities of the concentration camp by transforming the inhuman reality into an apparent game. With an extraordinary mixture of humor\, poetry and tragedy\, Benigni succeeds in creating a haunting look at the Holocaust that is still moving and touching today.  \nThe Lexikon des internationalen Films praises the work as a sensitive and serious attempt to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust with the means of tragicomedy:\nA film that begins “as a song of praise to the power of the imagination and the human will to survive” and ends in a “bitterly absurd tragedy” – a singular cinematic event of profound humanity. \nThe entrance fee is 7.50 euros and is a special offer as part of this commemorative event. \nDate: Tuesday\, January 27\, 2026\nTime: 7.30 p.m.\nLocation: Cinetech Gronau\nFilm: La Vita è Bella – Life is Beautiful (1997) \nAdmission: 7\,50\,- Euro \nFurther information on the event is available from Haus Lebenstein and Cinetech Gronau.
