SUMMARY:Secrets\, Wine\, and a Life Well-Lived—A Literary Evening at the Kaufhaus der Chance
DESCRIPTION:On June 11 at 6:30 p.m.\, Kaufhaus der Chance will host a unique living room reading at its furniture store located at Amelandsbrückenweg 93 in Epe: Gronau-based author Christiane Nitsche-Costa will present published and unpublished stories\, reports\, and other texts. In addition to her short crime story “Endlich vegan” (Finally Vegan)—nominated for the Glauser Prize in 2025—and other crime stories\, she will also read excerpts from her novel “Die Geheimniskrämerin” (The Secret-Keeper)\, which is currently represented by the Meller literary agency.  \nOver a glass of wine in a cozy atmosphere\, guests gain fascinating insights into life in the fictional village of Frauenend\, where there is also a department store like this one. Naturally\, this is a place that holds a special appeal for the secretive Katherin Grimme.  \n“So many stories\, so much lived life” can be found there\, she thinks. And because every story holds a secret—and every secret holds a story—there’s plenty to discover in Frauenend.  \nAnyone who wants to see for themselves whether this also applies to the “Kaufhaus der Chance” can get a sense of it during this unique literary evening\, since the furniture and all the decorations in the store come from household clear-outs and donations from residents of Gronau\, Epe\, and the surrounding area. Since new items are constantly coming in while others are sold\, the selection and atmosphere are always changing. DESCRIPTION:Skatenight Tours 2026\nThere are a total of five tours where skaters can enjoy the scenery and surroundings around Gronau and Epe.\nThe themed tours are back again this year; see below for more information. Each participant will also receive a bonus card:\nAnyone who has actively participated in 3 out of 5 tours will receive a small gift.\nThe meeting point is the TV Gronau clubhouse at Laubstiege/Hallenbad. Start: 7:30 p.m.   \nHere are the dates: \nMay 7\, 2026 Warm-up Tour\n– A beginner-friendly course with a short first lap and a second\, longer lap –  \nJune 11\, 2026: ’80s Tour\n– Music from the ’80s accompanies the tour\, and participants are encouraged to wear are encouraged –\nJuly 2\, 2026 Asphalt Tour\n– Your favorite music sets the pace as you roll along the asphalt around Gronau –\nAugust 6\, 2026 Beach Tour\n– During the summer vacation\, this tour offers plenty of that vacation feeling –\nSeptember 3\, 2026 Moonlight Tour\n– We drive into the darkness by moonlight\, and the many lights create a special atmosphere. \nHalfway through the tour\, there will be a short break during which refreshments will be served. After each tour\, there will be a social gathering in the start and finish area at the TVG clubhouse.  \nThe Volksbank Skate Nights aren’t a race\, but pure fun and enjoyment: skating through the streets in a “rolling procession” accompanied by the police\, the German Red Cross\, and the stewards. \nThe stewards set a pace that everyone can keep up with. Anyone can participate—and thanks to the support of Volksbank Gronau-Ahaus\, it’s even free. \n \nYou can find the latest updates on Facebook and Instagram. Participation is free!  \n\nParticipation is at your own risk.\nIn case of bad weather and wet roads\, a tour may have to be canceled for safety reasons.\nFor your own safety\, everyone should wear protective gear\, including gloves\, elbow pads\, knee pads\, and a helmet.\nPlease bring flashing and steady lights so you’ll be more visible at dusk.\nEvery participant should know how to brake and skate safely on inline skates.\nAll skaters should be able to skate for about 1.5 to 2 hours.\nThe traffic regulations apply.\nParticipants must follow the instructions of the police and the stewards.\nAll skaters must always skate to the right of the stewards.\nChildren and adolescents under the age of 16 may participate only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\nAlcoholic beverages are prohibited for participating skaters during the tour.
