SUMMARY:Fall Fair with a Sunday Shopping Day
DESCRIPTION:Fall Fair in Gronau\, October 9–12\, 2026   \n\n\nThe popular fall fair in Gronau will once again take place at the fairgrounds in front of the Bürgerhalle from October 9 through October 12\, 2026. For four days\, visitors can enjoy a varied program featuring many rides and numerous other attractions.   \n\n\nA variety of rides and culinary highlights \nOnce again this year\, fairgoers can look forward to tried-and-true classics like the bumper cars\, the chain carousel\, and the Music Express. Rides like X-Factor and BigMonster are sure to provide thrills.  \nIn addition to the rides\, the fair offers a wide variety of food and drinks: from bratwurst to roasted almonds and popcorn to sweets\, there’s something for everyone. Traditional fair games like dart throwing\, duck fishing\, and can toss add to the fun.  \nFireworks display on October 10 at around 10 p.m. \nThe traditional fireworks display at the Gronau Fair will take place on October 10\, 2026\, around 10:00 p.m. Following consultation with the district government and the fire department\, the city has granted permission. By limiting the duration and providing advance notice\, the city aims to minimize the impact on residents as much as possible. The city invites everyone to come and experience the traditional closing of the fair.    \nProgram highlights: \n\nFriday\, October 9\, 2026: Family Day with discounted prices on all rides.\nSaturday\, October 10\, 2026: A spectacular fireworks display at approximately 10 p.m.\nMonday\, October 12\, 2026: Happy Hour from 6 to 9 p.m. – pay once\, ride twice!\n\nOpening hours of the fair: \n\nFriday: 3 – 11 pm\nSaturday: 2 – 11 pm\nSunday: 1 – 10 pm\nMonday: 3 – 9 pm\n\nClosure of the parking lot at the community hall \nDue to the spring fair\, the parking lot at the Bürgerhalle will be closed from October 5 through October 15\, 2026. Visitors are asked to use the Park & Ride facilities on Losserstraße and Zollstraße. The parking lot at the Bürgerhalle will reopen on October 16\, 2026.     \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Dear singers\, \nPerhaps you have already heard about our cross-border choir project\, “67 Minutes\, A Journey of Hope.” Since the German group’s first rehearsal in Gronau is already scheduled for Friday\, October 9\, 2026\, I would like to personally extend this invitation once again to you and your choir members.  \nIn the Netherlands\, Choir Twente has now launched with 75 singers. We would now like to build a strong German group in Gronau and the surrounding area as well. Together with the Dutch singers and Orchestra Twente\, we are working toward the big concert on Sunday\, July 18\, 2027\, at the Muziekcentrum Enschede.   \nThe German samples: \nStart: Friday\, October 9\, 2026\nTime: Fridays\, 7:00–9:00 p.m.\nLocation: Lively\, An d. Weißen Dame 1\, 48599 Gronau \nPerhaps there are singers in your choir or among your friends and family who would enjoy participating in this special cross-border project. All voices are welcome: soprano\, alto\, tenor\, and bass.  \nMusic with a Story   \nThe music in this project is diverse\, powerful\, and full of stories. SUMMARY:50 Years of Punk: A Movement Between “No Future” and the Present
DESCRIPTION:50 Years of Punk—and the question still remains: What remains of a movement that rebelled against convention\, stagnation\, and narrow-mindedness with the slogan “No Future”? \nThe theatrical-musical performance  “Punk 76|26”  uses this anniversary as an opportunity to take a journey through five decades of punk and cultural history. Drama\, music\, and performance come together\, taking the audience from the movement’s beginnings in 1976 to the present day. The production explores protest\, freedom\, and resistance—and the question of how relevant the spirit of punk still is today.   \nOf course\, music also plays a central role: The Clash\, Patti Smith\, the Sex Pistols\, and other influential artists provide the soundtrack for the evening. \nThe performance will be complemented by a reading from “Krawall & Kopfhörer.” The book tells the personal story of Ralf P.\, who founded the city’s first punk band in Wuppertal in 1978.
