DESCRIPTION:Club concert with Kaprice\, special guest: Umbra \nKaprice from Haltern am See combine rocking guitars and danceable indie pop. With their handmade German-language power pop\, Kaprice have been able to inspire their audience on over 200 stages so far. After the release of their debut EP “Nostalgie” in 2022\, three more singles have followed so far. Most recently\, the boys from NRW worked on new music with a new line-up on bass and guitar\, recorded in the Maarweg studios in Cologne. In March 2025\, the four will be opening for “die Lärmer” (formerly Luxuslärm) on their tour of Germany.     \nSpecial guest: Umbra\n“umbra” is a music collective / band from Cologne and makes German-language indie rock with an international sound. Their DIY approach results in shows\, designs and\, above all\, songs about the ups and downs of modern city life – the climate crisis\, the social shift to the right\, but also about collective loneliness and being there for each other. DESCRIPTION:After taking a wrong turn in the sewer\, Rieke the rat finds herself in the toilet of the public library. Before she even knows where she is\, she is captured. As reading is not one of her favorite pastimes\, she doesn’t really feel at home in the library.   \nThis is where anyone who wants to help Rieke solve some reading puzzles comes in. \nUsing the Biparcours app\, the children move through various locations in the library and help Rieke to track down her kidnapper and help her to freedom. This is a fun way to learn how the library works and how to find your way around.  \nTablets are made available to the participants. \nThe Biparcours app is a digital learning tool from Bildungspartner NRW. \nThe application can be used by schools and extracurricular places of learning such as libraries\, but also by partners in North Rhine-Westphalia. \nFurther dates can be arranged for school classes by prior arrangement.

SUMMARY:Workshop: "Beats & Vibes - Your DJ workshop in the fall vacations"
DESCRIPTION:The rock’n’popmuseum invites you to a very special experience during the fall vacations: From October 20 to 22\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, the “Beats & Vibes” workshop is all about making music\, trying it out and dancing the night away! The workshop takes place in cooperation with Dagesh! and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s “Kultur macht stark” program.  \nProduce music and be a DJ yourself \nUnder the professional guidance of two DJs from Berlin\, the young people not only immerse themselves in the world of DJ technology – they also produce their own sounds! Each participant is given an iPad on which they can mix and experiment individually. Step by step\, they will create their own personal tracks and music sets.  \nProgram highlights \n\nA cultural look at DJing – the two artists share aspects of their personal biographies and reveal how diverse the music scene is; they also talk about their performances and their experiences in the Berlin club scene\n\n\nFirst steps in DJ technology – quick and easy introduction\nBuild and mix your own beats – be creative with professional tools\nLearning set design – how to put music together in an exciting and varied way\nDiscover new things together – listen to music\, play\, exchange ideas\n\n  \nThe grand finale takes place on Wednesday afternoon at the Turbine music club: the young people present their own tracks – and dance together to the beats they have produced themselves. Families and friends are cordially invited to come along and join in the celebrations.  \nMeals are provided for the participants during the three days. \nPrevious knowledge is not required\, but is also not a hindrance\, everyone is welcome! \nParticipation is free of charge\, but places are limited.\nRegistration is absolutely necessary!

SUMMARY:MANGA workshop
DESCRIPTION:All manga fans between the ages of 10 and 14 can once again expand or perfect their knowledge of manga in 2025. As last year\, Petra Nijman will lead the workshop and start a productive exchange with the participants. Advanced or interested beginners: everyone will find a topic for themselves in the course. DESCRIPTION:Library pirate Pit has already experienced a lot and is therefore well versed in all the seas of stories. There is hardly a little monster\, a friendly giant or even a mythical creature that he has not yet encountered. \nAnd yet Pit still has a great thirst for adventure and is happy to welcome all sailors aged 4 and over who want to travel with him. Because the bigger his crew\, the more exciting the journey will be for everyone!  \nAnyone who is interested in more adventures is invited to listen to Pit’s pirate stories and become part of his crew\, and then decide for themselves whether his tales are perhaps a little true or a lot of fiction. \nPirates who are in the mood for more reading adventures at the end of the reading session can then make their own discoveries in the children’s library.
