On Tuesday\, January 27\, 2026\, at 7.30 pm\, the award-winning film “La Vita è Bella – Life is Beautiful” will be shown at Cinetech Gronau.  \nThe screening takes place in cooperation with Cinetech Gronau and with the support of the Förderkreis Alte Synagoge Epe e.V. \nThe 1997 film by and starring Roberto Benigni tells the story of a Jewish father who tries to protect his young son from the atrocities of the concentration camp by transforming the inhuman reality into an apparent game. DESCRIPTION:Young musical talents from the Gronau Music School\nwith Marleen Martin-Andrade\, Charlotte Kasprowiak and Louisa Kasprowiak\nAn excerpt from the competition program of “Jugend musiziert”\nPiano solo\, violin duo and violin/viola – with music by Chopin (Ballade No. 2)\, Brahms (Hungarian Dance No. 5)\, Bach\, Beethoven and Prokofiev\, among others. \nAs the “Jugend musiziert” competition draws closer\, for many young musicians it is no longer just a question of putting the finishing touches to their instrument. It also becomes crucial whether the program “stands up” under concert conditions\, with an audience and with the excitement of a real performance. This is exactly why the Gronau Music School invites you to a public preparatory concert on Sunday\, January 25\, 2026\, at 3 p.m. in the Georgs Galerie (Merschstraße 21\, 48599 Gronau-Epe). The concert will last around 60 minutes.    \nScarlet Marleen Martin-Andrade (8)\, Charlotte Kasprowiak (10) and Louisa Kasprowiak (15) are on stage. Despite their young age\, they have been among the most successful participants at the music school for years. They have repeatedly won first prizes in the “Jugend musiziert” competition\, scoring top marks in several categories. Over several years\, they have also been regularly invited to award ceremonies and prizewinners’ concerts.    \nThe concert in the Georgs Galerie is therefore not a review in the sense of a “best-of”\, but a concentrated insight into the current competition program. The program includes works that are both technically and musically demanding. Louisa Kasprowiak sets a romantic focus with Chopin’s “Ballade No. 2” (op. 38)\, among others. She will also perform selected pieces from Prokofiev’s “Visions fugitives”. Charlotte Kasprowiak combines Bach (Gavotte and Sarabande\, BWV 816) with Chopin’s Waltz in E minor and the Scherzo from Prokofiev’s Second Piano Sonata. Scarlet Marleen Martin-Andrade spans the spectrum from Beethoven (“Sonatine in F major”) to the present day\, including Sonny Chua’s “T-Rex Hungry”.      \nThe competition also features chamber music. Scarlet Marleen Martin-Andrade and Charlotte Kasprowiak will perform Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5” as a violin duo. Movements from Pleyel’s “Grande Duo” and Ricardo Joshua Moretti’s “12 Jewish Songs” are also on the program in a mixed line-up (violin/viola).   \n  \nThe public is very welcome. Admission is free\, donations are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, 18.01.2026\, the beginning of the year will be celebrated with the Kreuz&Quer Theater from Duisburg. The play “Schneewitte und der letzte Fruchtzwerg” will turn the public library upside down.  \nThis play will be performed at 4 pm and is for children aged 4 and over. Admission costs 3 euros per person.  \n  \nA play about having to go to bed and not wanting to. Grimm prefers to go to bed early\, read a bit more in his fairy tale book and then go to sleep\, because sleep before midnight is the healthiest!  \nBut he can’t\, because there’s Gebrr – and Gebrr once again doesn’t want to go to bed\, isn’t tired\, is hungry\, is afraid to be alone in bed and finds one excuse after another to avoid having to sleep. \nAlthough Grimm is sooo tired\, he has to read Gebrr a fairy tale again\, the fairy tale of Snow White. \nAnd as it happens with these two\, they are soon in the middle of the story. Snow White\, the wicked stepmother\, the huntsman\, the seven dwarfs and the prince are romping around in their beds – and sleep is out of the question.  \nAt the end there is the obligatory kiss and Gebrr finally falls asleep\, only Grimm lies wide awake in bed.

There are questions\, picture puzzles\, sound snippets and much more from the past 50 years of the music industry.\nIf you listen to music every day and know a little about the bands\, artists and lyrics\, the quiz is just the thing for you. The game is played in teams of two to six players. The team with the most points wins. The focus here is on fun and a sociable evening. DESCRIPTION:Accordion solo concert on Wednesday\, November 12\, 2025 at 7:30 pm as part of the Gronau “Week of Remembrance” in the Gronau Protestant City Church\,\nHaus Lebenstein on Tour with Alexandre Bytchkov\, two-time German Accordion Champion\nWorks by J. S. Bach\, A. Vivaldi\, Z. de Abreu\, A. Piazzolla\, Klezmer music and more.\n\nThe well-known accordion virtuoso and winner of national and international competitions\, including two-time German Accordion Champion\, presents the wide range of possibilities of the accordion\, which in our part of the world is often only known from folk music. Not so in other countries.  \nAlexandre Bytchkov transports the audience into the most diverse musical worlds and ignites a veritable firework display of high artistic standards on the accordion. \nThe concert program consists of works (J. S. Bach\, F. Schubert\, Z. de Abreu\, A. Piazzolla\, Klezmer music and others) that are familiar to most music lovers. Every listener can rediscover a familiar musical instrument and find something interesting for themselves. A performance that gets under your skin and that you will carry with you in your heart for a long time to come.    \nThe artist lives with his family in Mainz and works as a freelance lecturer at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory. \nWithin a short space of time\, he has also made a name for himself in Germany as an outstanding musician. \nThe event is free of charge as part of the Haus Lebenstein project. DESCRIPTION:The rock’n’popmuseum invites you to a very special experience during the fall vacations: From October 20 to 22\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\, the “Beats & Vibes” workshop is all about making music\, trying it out and dancing the night away! The workshop takes place in cooperation with Dagesh! and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s “Kultur macht stark” program.  \nProduce music and be a DJ yourself \nUnder the professional guidance of two DJs from Berlin\, the young people not only immerse themselves in the world of DJ technology – they also produce their own sounds! Each participant is given an iPad on which they can mix and experiment individually. Step by step\, they will create their own personal tracks and music sets.  \nProgram highlights \n\nA cultural look at DJing – the two artists share aspects of their personal biographies and reveal how diverse the music scene is; they also talk about their performances and their experiences in the Berlin club scene\n\n\nFirst steps in DJ technology – quick and easy introduction\nBuild and mix your own beats – be creative with professional tools\nLearning set design – how to put music together in an exciting and varied way\nDiscover new things together – listen to music\, play\, exchange ideas\n\n  \nThe grand finale takes place on Wednesday afternoon at the Turbine music club: the young people present their own tracks – and dance together to the beats they have produced themselves. DESCRIPTION:After taking a wrong turn in the sewer\, Rieke the rat finds herself in the toilet of the public library. Before she even knows where she is\, she is captured. As reading is not one of her favorite pastimes\, she doesn’t really feel at home in the library.   \nThis is where anyone who wants to help Rieke solve some reading puzzles comes in. \nUsing the Biparcours app\, the children move through various locations in the library and help Rieke to track down her kidnapper and help her to freedom. This is a fun way to learn how the library works and how to find your way around.  \nTablets are made available to the participants. \nThe Biparcours app is a digital learning tool from Bildungspartner NRW. \nThe application can be used by schools and extracurricular places of learning such as libraries\, but also by partners in North Rhine-Westphalia. \nFurther dates can be arranged for school classes by prior arrangement.

DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to the Michaelismarkt on September 28th from 12-6 pm\, right in the center of Gronau-Epe! \nCountry life” is coming to the town center and we are delighted that the Landfrauen\, the Landvolk\, the KLJB Epe and the farmers will be presenting themselves on the St. Agatha church square. The traditional handmade market will also take place again and other highlights await you at the country and pumpkin festival in Epe.  \nAnd: It’s also open for business\, the stores have great offers for you. It will be a party for the whole family!  \nTogether with the Volksbank Gronau-Ahaus and the Eper Werbegemeinschaft\, we are looking forward to the September weekend in the town center. \nBy the way: the anniversary of the Musikverein Epe will conclude the evening before\, on Saturday evening. Look forward to the grand finale and the benefit concert of the Musikverein Epe\, together with many other performers.  \n  \nWatch out: Due to the run-off election\, Gronauer Straße will not be closed this year! The traditional flea market will take place this year on Amtsweg (around Sport Engstfeld).   \nReservations are not possible\, registrations are not necessary. Interested parties can simply set up on September 28 from 8 am. A contact person in a red vest will be on site from the city marketing department and will allocate places.

Whether in preparation for a class test\, an exam\, a presentation or an examination.  \nWithout any public traffic or lending activities\, those who cannot find peace and quiet elsewhere can work here in a relaxed atmosphere. \nSnacks and drinks are available at small prices for refreshments in between. \nIf required\, the library staff will be happy to give you one or two research tips.

DESCRIPTION:The Gronau mascot Türmchen turns two years old \n– City marketing celebrates the birthday with a special campaign \nOn September 20\, 2025\, “Türmchen”\, Gronau’s mascot\, will be two years old. According to the town marketing department\, this occasion will be celebrated as part of the town festival in Gronau’s town center. On this day\, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Türmchen in person and wish him a happy birthday.   \nTürmchen is visually based on the historic water tower in Gronau and has been popular with children and adults alike since its launch. To celebrate its second birthday\, the town has come up with a special highlight: An exclusive visit to Türmchen at a children’s birthday party will be raffled off in a competition.  \n“With this campaign\, we not only want to celebrate Türmchen\, but also actively involve children and create a special experience\,” emphasizes Lena Kerkeling from the Gronau city marketing team. “Türmchen now has such a large fan base that we want to give something back\,” she continues.  \nChildren can take part by drawing a picture on the theme of “Türmchen” and explaining in a few sentences why the mascot should stop by on their birthday of all days. The closing date for entries is September 17\, 2025 and pictures can be submitted directly to the Gronau Tourist Information Office (Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 45) or sent in by post.   \nTürmchen will visit the winning birthday party in person\, greet the children and bring a Türmchen stuffed animal for all the guests to cuddle. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:iPad rally: Save Rieke the rat – explore the city library with the Biparcours app on 04.09.25 \nAfter taking a wrong turn in the sewer\, Rieke the rat finds herself in the toilet of the public library. Before she even knows where she is\, she is captured. As reading is not one of her favorite pastimes\, she doesn’t really feel at home in the library.   \nThis is where anyone who wants to help Rieke solve some reading puzzles comes in. \nUsing the Biparcours app\, the children move through various locations in the library and help Rieke to track down her kidnapper and help her to freedom. This is a fun way to learn how the library works and how to find your way around.  \nTablets are made available to the participants. \nThe Biparcours app is a digital learning tool from Bildungspartner NRW. \nThe application can be used by schools and extracurricular places of learning such as libraries\, but also by partners in North Rhine-Westphalia.
