SUMMARY:Presentation of textile history
DESCRIPTION:Of threads and visions: Gronau textile buildings then and now \n\nDigital presentation incl. guided tour of the White Lady \n\nAfter a successful first event\, the second city tour focusing on the history of the textile industry in Gronau will take place in October. Together with the Euregio-Volkshochschule Gronau\, Stadtmarketing Gronau is offering the guided tour entitled “Of threads and visions: Gronau textile buildings then and now”\, but this time in digital form. Gronau insider Klaus Wiedau will take all interested parties on a digital tour of the city on October 24\, 2025 at 4 p.m. along prominent sites of the former textile industry in Gronau. Using many pictures\, for example of the cinema\, the rock’n’pop museum and the White Lady\, Gronau’s past textile history will be illustrated. These buildings\, along with many others\, were important parts of Gronau’s flourishing textile industry.     \nFollowing the presentation\, participants can look forward to an interesting guided tour of the restored White Lady. There\, participants will learn more about the innovative concept of “Lively” and its new function as a co-living space\, as well as the exciting transformation of this historic building. “We are delighted that the first event was so well received and that we can offer this special event again in cooperation with VHS Gronau\,” emphasizes Anne Holters from the Gronau City Marketing team.
