SUMMARY:Organ worlds
DESCRIPTION:Music at the crossroads of eras – this is how the Rheine Symphony Orchestra presents itself with its new program “Organ Worlds”. This time\, the focus is on the Concerto for Organ\, Strings and Timpani in G minor by French composer Francis Poulenc (1899-1963)\, written in 1938\, whose scoring already suggests an implicit homage to the Baroque era. The one-movement work captivates with its strong alternation of emotional movements and masterfully combines harmonic innovations of the 20th century with traditional Baroque forms.  \nThe musical counterparts in this concert program are the early symphonies No. 21 (K. 134) in A major and No. 25 (K. 183) in G minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)\, which were composed in Salzburg. Composed in 1772 and 1773\, these works bear witness to the young Mozart’s musical genius\, which in these symphonies is sometimes stormily dramatic\, sometimes sensitively songful and are typical examples of the composer’s inexhaustible inventiveness. \n  \nThe soloist on the famous Sauer organ of the Ev. Stadtkirche is the English organist Hannah Parry\, who trained at the Royal College of Music in London and has been the church musician of the Ev Stadtkirche Gronau for over a year. \nThe overall musical direction is in the hands of chief conductor Luis Andrade. \n  \nTickets for the concert will be available from March 15 at the Touristinfo\, Buchhandlung am Markt\, Wolbers City\, Kaufhaus Nacke (Gronau-Epe)\, as well as online at www.symphonieorchester-rheine.de or Eventim.
