Mieke Boon\, philosopher of science at the University of Twente in Enschede\nA highly topical issue that has become an integral part of everyday life: artificial intelligence\, its possibilities\, opportunities\, and risks.\nThe latest BegegnungsCafé focuses on the controversial topic of “creativity”: Until now\, creativity has been considered a uniquely human quality. But with artificial intelligence becoming increasingly capable of learning and independently creating texts and works of art\, creative work no longer seems to be an exclusively human trait. Even in Hollywood’s film industry\, artists are alarmed\, while others are predicting the end of human science.\nOur guest\, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mieke Boon from the University of Twente in Enschede\, takes a different view: In her opinion\, humans are indispensable. For the philosopher of science\, critical thinking\, judgment\, and creativity remain essentially human qualities—not only in the arts but also in science.\nThe speaker will give an interesting lecture on this topic\, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.\nAll interested parties on both sides of the border are cordially invited to join the conversation and discussion—whether in Dutch or German.
