DESCRIPTION:Painting meets music: new art exhibition at Georg’s Gallery \nA new art exhibition is on the program at Georg’s Gallery from February: artist Carsten Hölscher from Ahaus is presenting an extensive selection of his pictorial works for the first time under the title “Painting and Drawing”. The Gronau Community Foundation invites you to the vernissage on February 7\, 2026 at 7 pm\, admission is free. Carsten Hölscher is best known to many as a musician. His artistic talent became apparent early on\, initially with a clear focus on music. He studied electric bass and double bass\, built his own recording studio in Ahaus in 2005\, now works as a music producer and music teacher and regularly performs on stage with the Wild Honey Acoustic Trio. It is only in the last few years that he has also devoted himself more intensively to the visual arts.      \nAs an autodidact\, Hölscher developed his own signature style. His motifs are predominantly landscapes from the Münsterland region\, which he captures both in drawings and oil paintings on canvas. More abstract works in which he explores the physicality of color itself are also his specialty. His works are characterized by calm moods\, clear lines and a close connection to his home region. For Hölscher\, art means above all expression\, deceleration and a conscious view of his surroundings.     \nThe works can be viewed from February 7 to March 28\, 2026\, on Fridays during market hours from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and additionally on February 22 and March 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. \nWith this exhibition\, Georgs Galerie not only offers insights into the artistic work of a regional artist\, but also a varied cultural event that combines art and music in a special way. The exhibition will conclude with a special highlight: on March 28\, 2026\, the artist’s band will give a concert at Georg’s Galerie. They will present an eclectic mix of styles from pop\, jazz\, soul\, rock’n’roll and country\, bringing the combination of visual art and music to life once again. That was different 25 years ago. Back then\, the “Birth Day” was created by midwives from Gronau who wanted to provide expectant mothers with personal information and support. But especially today\, when all information is just a click away\, personal encounters are more valuable than ever – especially during such a drastic experience as childbirth.    \nOn Sunday\, March 1\, 2026\, the Gronau Family Education Center\, in cooperation with St. Antonius Hospital Gronau\, the Social Service of Catholic Women Ahaus-Vreden and Diakonie West\, invites you to the 25th Birth Information Day. Expectant parents can get to know the people they will come into contact with in connection with the birth: Midwives\, doctors\, but also advisors from social institutions where benefits such as parental allowance or child benefit can be applied for after the birth. The event lasts from 14:30 to 17:30. Admission is free\, registration is not required.    \n“It is important to us that expectant parents not only take away knowledge\, but also the feeling that they are not alone here\,” emphasizes Diana Ricker\, Head of Department at the Family Education Centre. “The information day thrives on encounters\, openness and trust – no website can replace that.”  \nWiebke Zimmermann\, head midwife at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at St. Antonius-Hospital Gronau\, adds: “In the past\, the focus was on topics such as breastfeeding or birth preparation for women only – today\, most couples come together to prepare for the birth as a shared experience and make initial contacts.” \nThis year\, St. Antonius Hospital is an official cooperation partner for the first time. In addition to general lectures on childbirth\, visitors can expect a varied program with four workshops: Topics include “Baby care”\, “Natural birth and alternative pain relief”\, “Becoming parents and staying a couple” and “Parental allowance\, child benefit and co – An overview”.  \nIn her presentation\, senior physician Senait Berhane from the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics will provide information about the birth process and answer questions about birth planning\, the delivery room and medical care. \nPractical tips for everyday life in the clinic – from the packed clinic bag and registration formalities to the first nappy change and bathing – complete the program. Melanie Epping and Kirsten Radau from the Diakonie pregnancy advice center will also provide an overview of financial support services for young families.  \nAll rooms of the family education center are open during the information day. DESCRIPTION:The Gronau public library is about to embark on an animal rescue mission! Under the motto “Save Rat Rieke”\, Marvin Dolansky invites you to an exciting and highly topical hands-on activity. At the center of the interactive experience is Rieke the rat\, who has been washed into the library through the sewers and urgently needs help. Under the direction of Marvin Dolansky\, the participants not only become attentive listeners\, but also active rescuers. With the help of the Biparcours app – an interactive rally that works via digital devices and real-life puzzles – the children have to solve various tasks in order to locate and ultimately rescue Rieke. The “Biparcours” promises an exciting mix of games\, knowledge and digital scavenger hunt. The event is primarily aimed at children of primary school age (approx. 6 to 10 years)\, but is suitable for all curious young explorers. The Gronau public library is looking forward to working with the young sleuths to rescue Rieke from her predicament.        \nThe Biparcours app is a digital learning tool from Bildungspartner NRW. The application can be used by schools and extracurricular places of learning such as libraries\, but also by partners in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Man kann ihnen\nbeim Reparieren direkt über die Schulter schauen und lernen\, wie man den Defekt beim nächsten Mal gleich selber behebt. \nDer ReparaturTreff versteht sein Angebot als Zeichen gegen die „Wegwerfgesellschaft“ und möchte einen sozialen Treffpunkt bieten.

DESCRIPTION:Night insights 2026 Gronau and Epe shine in a cultural light\n\nCultural events at twelve venues meet impressive light installations and color stagings: these are the cornerstones of “Nachteinblicke”\, which will be held for the sixth time on March 7 by Kulturbüro Gronau GmbH. The event is presented by Stadtwerke Gronau. As in previous editions\, thousands of visitors will once again experience an atmospheric spectacle of color and culture in 2026\, involving a large number of local and regional artists. And the best thing about it: admission is free!   \n\nMany visitors are always impressed by the special atmosphere created by the interplay of light\, space\, music and culture. At twelve different locations in Gronau and Epe\, local artists and choirs in particular present an exciting mix of their work. From male choirs and magicians to improvisational theater – the range of artists involved in the Night Insights is wide\, with a total of 36 artists and artist groups taking part.  \n\nInselpark Seemingly familiar things appear in a completely new light in the dark of night when the spectacular light and color productions create an atmospheric and sometimes even mystical atmosphere. A very special highlight is the Stadtwerke Silent Disco at the Waldbühne\, where visitors can dance to music transmitted via wireless headphones. Instead of loud speakers\, there is a shared but individual listening experience. Headphones can be borrowed for a fee of €2.50\, and for Stadtwerke customers\, borrowing is free as part of the Vorteilswelt (formerly PlusService Card).  \n\nFor the younger visitors\, there will be hands-on activities such as a children’s rally and craft activities\, and the Stadtwerke outdoor area in the Inselpark invites you to linger with chilled DJ music and a range of food and drink.\n\nDiscover “Gronau and Epe” in the light\nDuring the Night Insights\, city guides will also be out and about in both districts\, showing the city in a special light and from a different perspective. In this way\, participants can discover and experience the town with new eyes. The tours start at 20:00 and participation is based on the “pay what you want” principle.\nThe “Kulturhäppchen” are available at these locations:  \n\nGronau: Musikclub Turbine\, Café Backstage\, Evang. DESCRIPTION:S.A.M. Something About Music spielt am Samstag\, den 07.03.2026\, ab 19.00 Uhr im Cafe Grenzenlos. Ein Mix aus Funk\, Pop und Latinmusik wird von der Band präsentiert. Die junge niederländische Sängerin Sam Polman begeistert mit ihrer frischen Stimme. Samstag mit dabei ist der Nippi Noya der weltbekannte Perkussionist\, er war mit Udo Lindenberg auf Tournee. Komplettiert wird die Band durch Keyboarder Marcel den Riet\, den Gitarristen Edwin Haspehoven\, den Schlagzeuger Wilhelm Lammering und Bassist Henri Huismann. \nMit vielfältigsten Percussionsinstrumenten zieht der legendäre Nippy Noya Zuhörer und Zuschauer in seinen Bann. Der in Sulawesi – Indonesien geborene Musiker zählt zu den bekanntesten Conga Spielern der Welt. Im zarten Alter von 10 Jahren begann er in Indonesien mit dem Schlagzeugspiel. Im Alter von 22 Jahren kam Nippy Noya nach Europa\, wo seine kometenhafte Karriere als professioneller Musiker begann. \nIm Laufe der Jahre begleitete Nippy Noya Künstler wie John McLaughlin\, Jan Akkerman\, Chaka Khan\, Billy Cobham\, Herbert Grönemeyer\, Stan Getz\, Eric Burdon und viele andere. Neben seiner Mitwirkung an über 200 CD- und Plattenproduktionen stand Noya auch häufig für verschiedene Fernsehproduktionen zur Verfügung. Seit 1992 leitet Noya einen Lehrstuhl für Percussion am Konservatorium für Musik in Enschede. Darüber hinaus ist er gern gesehener Gastmusiker bei der Band farfarello.

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, 15.03.2026\, the Clown Ugolino theater from Bottrop will come to the Luise Youth Center\, Schiefe Straße 41\, Gronau\, and present the play “Dem Osterhasen auf der Spur”. \nThis play will be performed at 4 pm and is for children aged 3 and over. Admission costs 3 euros per person.  \n  \nClown Ugolino slips into the role of the pink bunny and is on the trail of the Easter bunny. He explains: Many\, many years ago\, the animals fought over who was allowed to hide the eggs at Easter. The mole buried the eggs in the ground so that no child could find them. The cat rolled the eggs around the yard all day and the pig took them into the mud. Only the rabbit could do anything sensible.     \nAnd where do the colorful eggs come from? Are they laid by colorful hens? Or are they eggs laid by colorful parrots? What does the Easter bunny do in summer? There are also stories\, including one about the little Easter bunny who had his first job.     \nMany spring songs from Ugolino’s pen frame the family fun at the beginning of spring.

DESCRIPTION:Siegfried Lenz was one of the best-known German writers of the post-war period and a contemporary of Heinrich Böll\, Günter Grass and Uwe Johnson. With his most famous novel “Deutschstunde” (1968)\, he created a classic of German narrative art. With other works such as “So zärtlich war Suleyken” (1955) and “Arnes Nachlaß” (1999)\, Lenz sold millions of copies. He was born on March 17\, 1926 in Lyck in East Prussia (now Poland) and died at the age of 88 on October 7\, 2014 in Hamburg. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year.

DESCRIPTION:Das Kontinenz- und Beckenbodenzentrum (KBBZ) am St. Antonius-Hospital Gronau bietet eine kostenlose Telefonsprechstunde für Betroffene und Angehörige an. Am Mittwoch\, 18. März 2026\, von 15 bis 17 Uhr stehen Fachärzte\, Pflegekräfte und Therapeuten des Zentrums telefonisch für Fragen rund um Harn- und Stuhlinkontinenz sowie Beckenbodenbeschwerden zur Verfügung. \nUnter der Telefonnummer 02562 915 7878 können sich Interessierte direkt und vertraulich an die Experten wenden. Ziel der Aktion ist es\, Betroffenen eine unkomplizierte Möglichkeit zu bieten\, über ihre Beschwerden zu sprechen und erste medizinische Einschätzungen zu erhalten. \n„Mit der Telefonsprechstunde möchten wir Betroffenen helfen\, ihre Scham zu überwinden und über Probleme zu sprechen\, die oft schon lange bestehen\, aber häufig verschwiegen werden“\, erklärt Frauke Sonntag\, Chefärztin der Klinik für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe sowie Leiterin des Kontinenz- und Beckenbodenzentrums. „Vielen Menschen fällt es am Telefon leichter\, über Schmerzen\, Unwohlsein\, Fremdkörpergefühle in der Scheide\, Probleme beim Sex oder Kontinenzprobleme zu sprechen als im direkten Arztgespräch. Ist das Problem erst einmal benannt\, kann das bereits eine große Erleichterung sein.“ \nDenn: Nichtstun ist meist keine Lösung: „Wenn es um Probleme beim intimen Themenfeld der Harn- oder Stuhl-Inkontinenz geht\, ist bei den Betroffenen der Leidensdruck häufig so hoch\, dass die daraus entstehenden seelischen Probleme die eigentlichen Funktionsstörungen überlagern oder sogar noch verstärken können. Nicht wenige können ihren Alltag nicht mehr bewältigen vor Sorge vor einem Malheur“\, sagt Bernd Beier\, Viszeralchirurg und Oberarzt in der Allgemeinchirurgie. \nAuch erste Therapieansätze könnten in einem solchen Gespräch häufig bereits aufgezeigt werden. Manchmal ließen sich schon am Telefon mögliche Ursachen eingrenzen oder Wege zu den passenden Fachärzten aufzeigen\, sind die Fachärzte überzeugt. Dennoch gilt: Ein Telefonat kann eine ärztliche Untersuchung nicht ersetzen. Neben dem Gespräch ist eine ausführliche Untersuchung vor Einleitung einer Therapie unverzichtbar. \nDas Kontinenz- und Beckenbodenzentrum in Gronau arbeitet interdisziplinär. Beteiligt sind vor allem die Kliniken für Gynäkologie\, Urologie und Allgemeinchirurgie. Darüber hinaus wirken auch Innere Medizin\, Anästhesie\, Pflege und Physiotherapie eng zusammen. Regelmäßige Fallbesprechungen und der Austausch mit einweisenden Ärzten sind am St. Antonius-Hospital Gronau üblich. \nMit der Telefonsprechstunde möchten die Gronauer Experten Betroffenen und ihren Angehörigen eine niedrigschwellige erste Orientierung bieten und Mut machen\, medizinische Hilfe in Anspruch zu nehmen. DESCRIPTION:Gronau Ochtrup Ootmarsum Lage Hoogstede Neuenhaus\nEibergen Haaksbergen Ahaus \nDer Kantor der Dresdner Frauenkirche\, Matthias Grünert\, kommt erneut ins Euregio-Gebiet. Vom 20. bis 22. März (Freitag bis Sonntag) wird er an zehn Orgeln in neun Städten und Gemeinden beiderseits der Grenze spielen. Die jeweils etwa einstündigen Konzerte können individuell auf eigene Faust besucht werden – oder aber im Rahmen von begleiteten Radtouren\, die an den drei Tagen von Ort zu Ort (bis auf eine Ausnahme) führen. \nIn Kirchen im westlichen Münsterland\, in der Grafschaft Bentheim und den benachbarten niederländischen Gemeinden existieren Orgeln\, die teils von renommierten Orgelbauern gefertigt worden sind. Zehn dieser Instrumente wird Matthias Grünert auf Einladung der grenzüberschreitend tätigen Kirchenmusikerin und Chorleiterin Marion Röber bespielen. Die Programme sind auf die Orgeln und ihre klanglichen Charakteristika abgestimmt. \nMatthias Grünert wurde im Jahre 2004 zum ersten Kantor der wiederaufgebauten Dresdner Frauenkirche berufen. Im Januar 2005 trat er das Amt an. Seitdem ist er künstlerisch verantwortlich für die gesamte Kirchenmusik in dem wiedererbauten Barockbau. Er gründete den Chor der Frauenkirche und den Kammerchor der Frauenkirche\, die er beide zu einer festen Größe in der Kulturlandschaft Mitteldeutschlands etablierte. Als Organist ist er darüber hinaus regelmäßig in ganz Deutschland mit mehrtägigen Konzerttouren unterwegs. \nDie Orgeltour in der Euregio beginnt am 20. März (Freitag). Start der Radtour ist um 15.45 Uhr in Gronau an der St.-Antonius-Kirche. Von dort geht es nach Ochtrup\, wo das erste Konzert um 17 Uhr in der Evangelischen Kirche beginnt. Die Radfahrer fahren danach über eine andere Route zurück nach Gronau\, wo ab 19 Uhr das Konzert in der St.-Antonius-Kirche stattfindet.  \nAm 21. März starten die Fietser um 10.30 Uhr in Neuenhaus in der Grafschaft Bentheim. Zunächst geht es über die Grenze nach Ootmarsum. Dort spielt Grünert ab 12 Uhr in der Simon en Judaskerk. Nächste Station ist Lage\, wo um 14 Uhr die Orgel in der Reformierten Kirche erklingen wird. Die Radler machen sich anschließend auf nach Hoogstede\, wo Matthias Grünert um 16 Uhr in der Altreformierten Kirche spielen wird. Danach geht es nach Neuenhaus. Dort beginnt um 18 Uhr in der Reformierten Kirche das Abschlusskonzert des Tages. \nAm 22. März treffen sich die Radfahrer um 9.45 Uhr in Haaksbergen. Von dort aus geht es nach Eibergen. Dort wird Matthias Grünert ab 11 Uhr in der Oude Matthäuskerk die Orgel ertönen lassen. Anschließend kehren die Radler zurück nach Haaksbergen. Dort steht ab 14.30 Uhr ein Wandelkonzert an\, das in der Pancratiuskerk beginnt und fortgesetzt wird in der Protestantse Kerk. Das letzte Konzert der Orgelreihe wird aus Zeitgründen nicht mit dem Fahrrad angefahren. Es beginnt nämlich schon um 17.30 Uhr in der Ev. Christuskirche Ahaus. \nDie  letzten Konzerte am Freitag und Sonnabend finden an den Ausgangspunkten der Radtouren statt\, so dass von dort die individuelle Heimreise angetreten werden kann. Am Sonntag endet die Radtour am Startpunkt Haaksbergen. Von dort können die Interessierten per Auto nach Ahaus fahren. \n  \nDie Teilnahme an den Konzerten sowie an den Radtouren unter Leitung von Martin Borck ist kostenlos. Es wird allerdings um Spenden gebeten. Die Plätze für die Radtouren sind begrenzt. Anmeldungen hierfür werden unter orgel-radtour@gmx.de entgegengenommen. So wird Geschichte anschaulich vermittelt und mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Fragen verknüpft. \nHeute leben unseres Wissens keine Jüdinnen und Juden mehr in Gronau. Diese Tatsache macht deutlich\, welche Folgen Ausgrenzung\, Antisemitismus und Rassismus haben können. Ihr Aufruf: „Die Pille ist nicht dein Feind!“ \nWeiter geht es mit Heilpraktikerin und Psychoonkologin Ulrike Finken und ihrem Vortrag zur Ernährung. Ulrike Finken leitet auch die Selbsthilfegruppe Gronau\, die sie ebenfalls vorstellen wird. Wie man sich mit Yoga bei Endometriose helfen kann\, zeigt Regina Nikitin auf\, während Oberärztin Dr. Verena Schotters über die operative Therapie der Endometriose spricht. DESCRIPTION:Gum Bucket – Album Release Concert – Support BUGS IN A TRAP from Gescher. \nGum Bucket are celebrating the release of their third studio album “Closer” with an album release concert on March 28\, 2026 at Musikclub Turbine. The new album will be released on February 27\, 2026 on all major streaming platforms and marks an important milestone in the band’s history.\nCloser was created in 2025 during a conscious creative break and combines seven new\, energetic songs with three newly remastered older tracks. Musically\, the band remains true to their self-titled Trigger Rock: powerful rock with clear influences from Led Zeppelin\, combined with a modern sound that also allows for comparisons with the Foo Fighters. For the first time\, Gum Bucket also presents an acoustic song\, which will show a new\, intimate facet of the band live.     \nThe release concert offers the opportunity to experience the new songs for the first time in full length and with the usual live energy of Gum Bucket. The band will be supported by their friends Bugs in a Trap from Gescher\, who will open the evening.\nCloser was produced in the Luna recording studio in Lüdinghausen; accompanying studio recordings by a photographer friend can be found in the booklet.
