DESCRIPTION:iPad Rally: Save Rieke the Rat – Explore the City Library with the Biparcours App \nAn animal rescue mission is about to take place at the Gronau Public Library! Under the slogan “Save Rieke the Rat\,” Marvin Dolansky invites everyone to an exciting and highly topical hands-on activity. At the heart of this interactive experience is Rieke the Rat\, who was washed into the library through the sewer system and urgently needs help. Participants are encouraged not only to be attentive listeners but also to become active rescuers. Using the Biparcours app\, children will navigate their way through the library and must complete various tasks to locate Rieke and ultimately rescue her. The Biparcours promises an exciting mix of play\, learning\, and a digital scavenger hunt.\nThe event is primarily aimed at elementary school-aged children (approx. 6 to 10 years old)\, but is suitable for all curious young explorers. Through play\, the children learn how a library works and how to find their way around it.\nTablets will be provided.\nThe Biparcours app is a digital learning tool developed by Bildungspartner NRW.\nThe app can be used by schools as well as by extracurricular learning venues such as libraries\, and by partners throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. Additional dates can be arranged for school classes upon request.

DESCRIPTION:Travel back to your own past through music.\nA journey through music history that quickly takes you back to your own past—that’s what the rock’n’popmuseum regularly offers music lovers aged 60 and older. The guided tours take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 p.m.  \nA few notes ring out\, and there it is again—that goosebump-inducing moment\, just like back then with that first kiss\, that first heartbreak\, or a spectacular concert. Probably everyone has memories like these\, closely intertwined with certain songs and bands. But the 60-plus generation\, in particular\, has plenty of these memories to draw on. A special guided tour is now dedicated to their world of experiences. Elvis\, the Beatles\, Pink Floyd\, rebels\, hippies\, rockers\, punks\, civil rights activists—they all make an appearance on this journey through the world of music at the rock’n’popmuseum. Through videos\, interviews\, personal artifacts\, and photos—all made possible by state-of-the-art technology—they come impressively close to the visitors. The journey through music history thus becomes a journey into one’s own past and through one’s own memories. After the tour of the exhibition\, participants are warmly invited to share their impressions over coffee and cake.        \nThe cost of the tour is 19.00 euros and includes admission\, the tour\, and coffee and cake. In 2027\, we’ll be back in Gronau\, so that all the children in the schools in Gronau and Epe\, in particular\, can enjoy singing together\,” says Luana Dörken from the city’s marketing department. The Children’s Rodel Singing event\, presented by Volksbank Gronau-Ahaus eG\, will take place on Friday\, December 4\, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church in Gronau-Epe. Schools (elementary schools\, grades 1–4) can still register: Registration for the “Rodelsingen” in Epe on Friday\, December 4\, 2026 – fill out the form    \nAt 7 p.m. that evening\, there will be a big sing-along for everyone. “Admission is free\, and everyone is warmly invited to join in and get into the Christmas spirit\,” the announcement continues. No registration is required.   \n

DESCRIPTION:We’ve all been there: A cherished item—like your favorite sweater\, an old music box\, or a toaster—just breaks from one day to the next. Broken items\ndon’t always have to end up in the trash right away—in some cases\, with a little expertise and some skill\, they can be quickly repaired.  \nSince October 2018\, volunteers at the Gronau Repair Café have been on hand every first Saturday of the month to perform minor repairs in exchange for a donation. You can watch them work up close\nand learn how to fix the problem yourself next time.  \nReparaturTreff sees its services as a stand against the “throwaway society” and aims to provide a social gathering place.

The guided tours take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 p.m.  \nA few notes ring out\, and there it is again—that goosebump-inducing moment\, just like back then with that first kiss\, that first heartbreak\, or a spectacular concert. Probably everyone has memories like these\, closely intertwined with certain songs and bands. But the 60-plus generation\, in particular\, has plenty of these memories to draw on. A special guided tour is now dedicated to their world of experiences. Elvis\, the Beatles\, Pink Floyd\, rebels\, hippies\, rockers\, punks\, civil rights activists—they all make an appearance on this journey through the world of music at the rock’n’popmuseum. Through videos\, interviews\, personal artifacts\, and photos—all made possible by state-of-the-art technology—they come impressively close to the visitors. The journey through music history thus becomes a journey into one’s own past and through one’s own memories.
