On June 11 at 6:30 p.m., Kaufhaus der Chance will host a unique living room reading at its furniture store located at Amelandsbr\u00fcckenweg 93 in Epe: Gronau-based author Christiane Nitsche-Costa will present published and unpublished stories, reports, and other texts. In addition to her short crime story \u201cEndlich vegan\u201d (Finally Vegan)\u2014nominated for the Glauser Prize in 2025\u2014and other crime stories, she will also read excerpts from her novel \u201cDie Geheimniskr\u00e4merin\u201d (The Secret-Keeper), which is currently represented by the Meller literary agency. <\/p>\n
Over a glass of wine in a cozy atmosphere, guests gain fascinating insights into life in the fictional village of Frauenend, where there is also a department store like this one. Naturally, this is a place that holds a special appeal for the secretive Katherin Grimme. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo many stories, so much lived life\u201d can be found there, she thinks. And because every story holds a secret\u2014and every secret holds a story\u2014there\u2019s plenty to discover in Frauenend. <\/p>\n
Anyone who wants to see for themselves whether this also applies to the \u201cKaufhaus der Chance\u201d can get a sense of it during this unique literary evening, since the furniture and all the decorations in the store come from household clear-outs and donations from residents of Gronau, Epe, and the surrounding area. Since new items are constantly coming in while others are sold, the selection and atmosphere are always changing. That\u2019s why there\u2019s sure to be both the familiar and the unfamiliar for many to discover this evening\u2014in Christiane Nitsche-Costa\u2019s stories as well as in the exhibition. <\/p>\n
