Cross-Border Choir Project “67 Minutes, A Journey of Hope”

Dear singers,

Perhaps you have already heard about our cross-border choir project, “67 Minutes, A Journey of Hope.” Since the German group’s first rehearsal in Gronau is already scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, I would like to personally extend this invitation once again to you and your choir members.

In the Netherlands, Choir Twente has now launched with 75 singers. We would now like to build a strong German group in Gronau and the surrounding area as well. Together with the Dutch singers and Orchestra Twente, we are working toward the big concert on Sunday, July 18, 2027, at the Muziekcentrum Enschede.

The German samples:

Start: Friday, October 9, 2026
Time: Fridays, 7:00–9:00 p.m.
Location: Lively, An d. Weißen Dame 1, 48599 Gronau

Perhaps there are singers in your choir or among your friends and family who would enjoy participating in this special cross-border project. All voices are welcome: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.

Music with a Story

The music in this project is diverse, powerful, and full of stories. African rhythms, well-known songs, and impressive choral music come together to create a varied program.

The program includes, among other things:

• Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika
• Shosholoza
• Asimbonanga
• Free Nelson Mandela
• Africa – Toto
• Dream On – Aerosmith
• You’ll Never Walk Alone
• You’re the Voice
• Something Inside So Strong

Many of these songs tell their own stories. They are about freedom, hope, loss, solidarity, and the courage to look ahead.

Perhaps you know other singers who would like to work toward this concert together with people from Germany and the Netherlands. Please feel free to pass this invitation along to any interested choir members.

I would be very happy to welcome many singers from Gronau and the German border region to Choir Twente.
