Buzz, buzz, hum—A visit with bees, creepy-crawlies, and friends in a green oasis—for grandparents with elementary-school-aged children
Participants visit a huge green oasis in the middle of an industrial area teeming with insects, creepy-crawlies, and more.
At a beekeeper’s, you’ll learn how the bee colony produces honey through a perfect division of labor.
We’re exploring how they pollinate flowers and planting bee-friendly flowers at home.
During a short picnic break, there will be a honey tasting.
In the garden, there is a pond with dragonflies and water fleas, as well as insect hotels and compost beds with lots of little creepy-crawlies, which we examine with a magnifying glass and a microscope and for which we build an insect nest.
If possible, please bring a magnifying glass, a handheld magnifying glass, tweezers, a collection box (if you have one), and a backpack.
