The underpass at the Gronau train station has also been affected by the heavy rains. In addition, with sub-freezing temperatures forecast for the weekend, significant icy conditions are expected. For this reason, the bike and pedestrian path in the underpass between the Steinstraße and Zollstraße roundabouts will likely have to be closed this coming weekend. Due to the situation, this closure will be implemented on short notice.
The speed limit for vehicle traffic will then be set at 30 km/h, as cyclists will have to use the roadway when the path is closed.
For pedestrians, the city administration recommends using the surrounding sidewalks.
