In over 100 concerts and events as part of the Westphalian Organ Festival, the organ (as an intangible cultural heritage) and organ music will take center stage this weekend. This is also the case in Gronau:
🎼 On Saturday at 6 p.m., the Rheine Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Luis Andrade, will perform at the Evangelical City Church in Gronau. Titled “Organ Symphony,” the program will feature Josef Gabriel Rheinberger’s Romantic Concerto in F major for organ and orchestra, with Dr. Tamás Szőcs as the organ soloist.
Tickets are still available at our tourist information office or at the box office.
🎼 On Sunday at 11 a.m., Ulrich Hirtzbruch—former cantor, district cantor, and later regional church music director—will perform an organ matinee at the Evangelical City Church in Gronau. Admission is free; donations are requested at the exit.
🎼 On Sunday at 5 p.m., Cantor Hans Stege invites you to a service featuring church music. Under the direction of Yt Nicolai, the program will feature the Bachwerkplaats choir from Diepenheim (NL), Nynke van der Kooij (soprano), Dieks van Gogh (baritone), and Hans Stege on the organ. The program features Duruflé’s “Requiem” and songs by Vaughan Williams. Admission is free; donations are requested at the exit.
