“KiKA is coming to you! – Reading time” starts nationwide library tour π
Reading aloud together encourages imagination, creates time out and awakens children’s enthusiasm for books. In “KiKA comes to you! – Vorlesezeit”, Singa and Juri from “KiKA-Baumhaus” and Christian and Anni from “KiKANiNCHEN” go on a reading tour and visit libraries across Germany. On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the library tour with Anni from “KiKANiNCHEN” will stop at the Gronau public library.
The IGLU 2024 study shows that the reading skills of primary school children have declined significantly over the past 20 years. This makes it all the more important to introduce children to books in a playful way from pre-school age. With “KiKA comes to you! – Vorlesezeit”, KiKA invites children to discover the joy of reading aloud and reading.
At each stop on the nationwide library tour, children between the ages of four and eight can take part, listen to the stories and then talk to their KiKA stars. Interested families and children’s groups can register at one of the six reading stops from August 25, 2025. Registration for the reading time on 15.10.2025 in Gronau can be made at the public library by telephone (02562 12-442) or by email (stadtbuecherei-gronau@gronau.de). More information about the library tour can be found at eltern.kika.de.
