On Friday, July 31, the VHS, in collaboration with the Zwillbrock Biological Station, invites you to an event for children on the topic of “Bees and Friends.” đ
Youâll visit a huge green oasis in the middle of an industrial area teeming with insects, creepy-crawlies, and more. There, a beekeeper will explain how the bee colony works together in perfect harmony to produce honey and pollinate flowers. During a short picnic break, youâll sample some delicious honey.đŻ
The garden features a pond with dragonflies and water fleas, as well as insect hotels and compost beds teeming with creepy-crawlies, which youâll examine with a magnifying glass and a microscope.
If you have them, you can bring a magnifying glass, a cup magnifier, tweezers, a collection box, and a backpack.
