As the name suggests, the Small Villages Tour takes you through neighboring towns, each of which has its own unique charm. Wessum, for example, is one of the oldest towns in the former district of Ahaus, where wooden shoes—also known as “Klumpen”—were manufactured for a long time and sold far beyond the town’s borders.
