Shortly before Christmas, the Protestant church district of Steinfurt-Coesfeld-Borken invites you to a special concert: On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 7 pm in the Ev. Stadtkirche Gronau (Alfred-Dragstra-Platz 1), musician Jan Simowitsch will present his program “Vom Himmel”. Admission is free.🎶💚
At his concerts, Jan Simowitsch combines music and language to create a subtle experience. On the grand piano, he interprets pieces from his Christmas album “Vom Himmel” and develops them into warm, clear and meditative soundscapes that are carried by inner depth. The musical performances are accompanied by selected readings that leave room for peace, reflection and Advent anticipation.
The church musician, author and former director of the Pop Institute of the North Church has been known for many years for his combination of sound and word. With projects such as the “monthly hymn”, digital music formats and, most recently, as the overall musical director of the closing service of the Kirchentag 2025, he has had a lasting influence on popular church music.
