The Dutch government has fallen, but border controls continue…

The Dutch government has fallen, but the border controls continue! On Sunday, June 8, Pentecost Sunday, checks will be carried out in the border regions of Gronau-Nordhorn and Enschede-Denekamp between 13:00 and 16:00. Passers-by will be asked for their ID. 😊

The inspection is a joint project with the organizers of the “80 Years of Peace!?” exhibition. The aim is to raise awareness of the border crossing and the German-Dutch relationship. To this end, passers-by must complete a
questionnaire. Those who (cannot) identify themselves will receive a temporary
passport replacement.

Anyone who would like to cross the border at Gronau-Glanerbrug at the announced time
and has something to declare can inform the organizers of “80 years of
peace!?” in advance. Photos and selfies with customs officials are only permitted with their
consent.

The border checks will take place at random at various
border crossings between Enschede/Alstätte and Mander/Getelo until 20 July, always in
consultation with the organizers of “80 Years of Peace1?”. 😊
