The Euregio-Volkshochschule Gronau invites you tomorrow at 6.30 pm to the Dutch…

The Euregio Volkshochschule Gronau invites you to a Dutch-German meeting café tomorrow at 6.30 pm in the Gronau City Library, Parkstraße1. 😊

Anneke van Wassenhove, singer, music teacher and conductor, studied in Enschede, Arnhem and Rotterdam. She has been a guest conductor for various choirs and orchestras for twenty years and has led several projects in the fields of classical and jazz music. She conducts two choirs of her own in the Enschede region. She also regularly offers workshops on choral and vocal training at home and abroad.

In her reading, the musician talks about important women in music history, from Fanny Mendelssohn and Antonia Brico to Gail Anne Dorsey and Beyoncé. Was (classical) music a male stronghold? Isn’t it finally time for feminism in music?
Linked to these questions, the event sees itself as an ode to women who, throughout the history of music, deserve their own podium alongside their male contemporaries.

This is the perfect meeting place for anyone who wants to discuss social issues of cross-border relevance in an informal atmosphere and try out their German or Dutch language skills.
Over a “Kopje Koffie”, a cup of tea or a glass of wine, participants can take the floor and discuss the topic of the day.
Participants from both sides of the border who enjoy cultural, social and linguistic exchange are welcome.

Admission is five euros including a drink. Pupils and students have free admission.

Registrations can be made at the Euregio Adult Education Center by calling 02562 12-666 or online: www.vhs-gronau.de
