The “Notinsel” project has officially launched! 😊

But what exactly is “Notinsel”? “Notinsel” is an initiative of the German Child Protection Foundation Hänsel+Gretel that offers safe havens to children and young people in emergency or dangerous situations. Stores and facilities that participate in the project and display the “Notinsel” sign on their doors let children know that they can find protection, help, and people to turn to there. In addition to serving as a concrete place of refuge, “Notinsel” also plays an important preventive role.

At Wednesday’s press event, the tourist information office received the sticker from @Rainer Doetkotte, mayor of the city of Gronau, and is now officially one of 30 designated locations.👍 New locations are being added every day, helping to protect children.

Would you like your business or organization to become a “safe haven” as well? If so, please feel free to contact the City of Gronau’s Department of Children, Youth, and Family Services. The project manager is Sascha Lammers (Phone: 0256212368, Email: s.lammers@gronau.de).
