Fair Trade Crafts and Creative Contest at Café Grenzenlos All creative children and teens are cordially invited to participate in the “Fair Trade” creative contest in Gronau. Daycare centers, schools, clubs, groups, and individuals are all welcome to participate. Entries can be submitted at Café Grenzenlos. Please include your name, age, and phone number with your submission. The awards ceremony will take place on September 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Café Grenzenlos.

September 1 – September 30,
Photo Contest: “International Flavors Unite Nations: 12 Recipes, 12 Countries” With the calendar photo contest “International Flavors Connect Nations: 12 Recipes, 12 Countries,” the city of Gronau invites people from different cultures to share their culinary traditions. Your photo could appear in the accompanying 2027 calendar! Send your photo by email by September 30 to: n.amiranashvili@gronau.de

“Diversity Plays Together” at the House of Encounters: “Diversity Plays Together” is an intercultural leisure activity that brings together people of different ages and backgrounds. The project promotes encounters, exchange, and playing together to actively strengthen community spirit in our city.

September 10 at 6:30 p.m.
: Presentation of the “Digital Book” & Podcast – From Arrival to Belonging, at the Gronau City Library. This joint project by the integration agencies of the German Red Cross (DRK) and Caritas in the Borken district offers insights into the stories of people with migration backgrounds in the district—brought to life through digital “scrollytelling” and the “
” podcast.

September 19: Game Afternoon at the Gronau City Library, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Playing Together Without Words: Intercultural Game Morning at the Gronau Public Library The Gronau Public Library cordially invites you to a colorful, intercultural game morning
. The focus will be on lots of great, language-independent games that bring people of all cultures and generations together without any language barriers.

September 28, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
“Here’s to that! Who I am, who you are, and what connects us!” At the Luise Youth Center for children and teens ages 10–14 “Who am I, and what actually shapes me? What images come to mind when I see other people? And where do these ideas come from? This workshop invites you to reflect, talk, and be creative: about identity, prejudice, and
living together in a diverse society.

September 29, 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Workshop on “Language and Discrimination” at the Gronau Family Education Center with Christina Möllers-Sadlowski (DRK Integration Agency) Reflecting on Language and Discrimination. Understanding. Speaking more mindfully. Evening workshop as part of Intercultural Week. Language has an impact—often more than we realize. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore together how language can influence discrimination and how we can be more sensitive in our use of it.
