Nils Wülker, “Zuversicht”

ECHO Award winner and exceptional trumpeter Nils Wülker is going on tour with his fifteenth album and will present an impressive live experience with an important message.

Confidence is when we experience hope so actively that we trust in the future despite all adversity. This is the guiding principle behind Nils Wülker’s latest work. Inspired by a quote from the American rabbi Samuel Ullman (“You are as young as your confidence, as old as your doubts”), the music combines powerful energy, lyrical beauty, and deep emotional resonance. The album’s original compositions unfold their very own, captivating magic when performed live. Wülker’s clear and expressive trumpet sound blends perfectly with the intuitive understanding of his top-tier band.

“I don’t expect music to bring about a direct, measurable change,” says Nils Wülker. “But I always have faith that it will convey something positive—something that takes hold somewhere, resonates, and manifests itself—and that, hopefully, it will be meaningful and give people a sense of purpose.”

Lineup:

The award-winning quartet MASAA (Arabic for “evening”) blends contemporary jazz, Arabic poetry, and free improvisation into a unique sound that transcends genre boundaries.Since their formation in 2012, the four musicians have toured over 30 countries and have been honored with awards including the German Jazz Prize. With their new album “Terre Humaine,” they bring a deeply moving musical narrative about humanity to the stage. For the first time, all four band members sing together—sometimes understated and earthy, sometimes driving and danceable, but always carried by spontaneous interaction and a palpable sense of connection. Even in live performances, the quartet breaks down traditional boundaries and creates entirely new spaces for encounter and shared experience.

The band will also give a children’s concert in the morning for the residents of Gronau.
