Lecture as part of the Heart Week “Healthy vessels, healthy heart”

Heart Weeks 2025: St. Antonius Hospital experts provide information about heart disease

As part of the nationwide Heart Weeks 2025, the Cardiology Clinic at St. Antonius Hospital Gronau is hosting a public lecture evening. Under the
motto “Healthy vessels, healthy heart”, interested parties will learn how coronary heart disease and heart attacks can be detected, prevented and treated at an early stage on November 19 from 6:30 p.m. in the Gronau nursing school at St. Antonius Hospital.

“If you know and pay attention to certain risk factors, you can significantly reduce your risk of a heart attack or stroke,” explains Dr. Alexander Samol, Head Physician at the Cardiology Clinic at St. Antonius-Hospital Gronau. Together with his senior physicians Sherif Omar, Wael El Eit and Mohamed Elbaroudy, he provides information on the causes, diagnosis and treatment options for cardiovascular diseases – still the most common cause of death in Germany.

The lectures will begin by looking at the definition, causes and diagnosis of coronary heart disease. This will be followed by prevention and drug treatment, before interventional and surgical treatment options, particularly for acute coronary syndrome, are presented. Manfred Nasse from the German Heart Foundation will also be present with an information stand and will provide interested parties with brochures and flyers on the subject of heart health.

Anyone interested in learning more about heart health and modern treatment methods is invited to attend.
The event will take place on November 19, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the nursing school (access via the main entrance of the hospital, on the left).
