Ingeborg Bachmann was an Austrian writer considered one of the most significant German-language authors of the 20th century; her works include the novel *Malina* (1971), the short story collection *Das dreißigste Jahr* (1961), and the libretto for the opera *Der Prinz von Homburg* (1960). She was born on June 25, 1926, in Klagenfurt, Austria, and died at the age of 47 on October 17, 1973, in Rome. To mark her 100th birthday, we invite you to join us.
