With a so-called “best-of result” of € 8,075, last week’s event ended…

This year’s Christmas tree campaign organized by the Kolping Family Epe ended last weekend with a “best-of result” of €8,075. 🌲👏

After the division and distribution of the tours to the 40 or so helpers with their collection vehicles and a group photo, Pastor Jestin Sam, President of the Kolping Family Epe, blessed the helpers and their vehicles after a joint prayer at the parish office. Equipped with high-visibility vests and lists of locations and donors, young and old made their way through Epe in wintry temperatures – later the sun even made an appearance.

Delicious soups prepared by a family group from the Epe Kolping Family were offered in the vicarage at lunchtime to warm up and refresh. An emergency number was set up to report Christmas trees that had not been collected for various reasons. Like all other discarded Christmas trees, these were taken to the Gronau municipal building yard.

A big thank you to all helpers: from the donors to the collectors, from the kitchen team to the companies and private individuals who made their vehicles available free of charge. This year, the educational aid for children and young people in Kerala (India, Father Jestin Sam’s project), the sick days in Pastor John Polnedi’s home country, Tafel Gronau e. V. and the Wittekindshof’s early intervention center in Gronau can look forward to the proceeds. 👏
