The Gronau mascot Türmchen turns two years old

– City marketing celebrates the birthday with a special campaign

On September 20, 2025, “Türmchen”, Gronau’s mascot, will be two years old. According to the town marketing department, this occasion will be celebrated as part of the town festival in Gronau’s town center. On this day, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Türmchen in person and wish him a happy birthday.

Türmchen is visually based on the historic water tower in Gronau and has been popular with children and adults alike since its launch. To celebrate its second birthday, the town has come up with a special highlight: An exclusive visit to Türmchen at a children’s birthday party will be raffled off in a competition.

“With this campaign, we not only want to celebrate Türmchen, but also actively involve children and create a special experience,” emphasizes Lena Kerkeling from the Gronau city marketing team. “Türmchen now has such a large fan base that we want to give something back,” she continues.

Children can take part by drawing a picture on the theme of “Türmchen” and explaining in a few sentences why the mascot should stop by on their birthday of all days. The closing date for entries is September 17, 2025 and pictures can be submitted directly to the Gronau Tourist Information Office (Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 45) or sent in by post.

Türmchen will visit the winning birthday party in person, greet the children and bring a Türmchen stuffed animal for all the guests to cuddle.
