It is impossible to imagine Epe without Schepers watermill. The historic location right on the spelt offers a picturesque spot and is perfectly situated for a nice walk.

The mill was first mentioned in a document in 1346 and was owned by the Count of Bentheim for a long time. In 1856 it first came into the possession of the Schepers family. During the longest period of its existence it served as a flour mill, fulling mill and oil mill. For generations, the grain mill on the small river “Dinkel” was the main source of income for the Schepers family from Epe.

In 1999 Schepers Mühle was rebuilt. Now it contains a cafe/restaurant, 3 apartments and a wedding room. The romantic mill garden, directly next to the old sluice, provides the perfect setting for summer champagne receptions or uniquely beautiful garden parties.

Over 2 floors, the historic water mill offers an original ambience and plenty of space to celebrate.

The ensemble Schepers’ Mühle and Schepers Hotel with all its idyllic outdoor facilities also offers the best conditions for events and company celebrations.

The Udo Lindenberg monument is a must for all fans and those who want to become one. In the middle of Gronau you can find the oversized Udo on the traffic circle at the old federal road 54 and is in any case worth a visit. The monument is an attraction and a perfect photo motif. Many years ago, Udo himself put his “thumb in the wind” there to hitchhike into the big, wide world. The Udo Lindenberg monument is about three meters high and made of bronze.
