Dutch-German BegegnungsCafé – TextielBeat Enschede
The Euregio Adult Education Center invites you to the Dutch-German Encounter Café on May 6 (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. in the Gronau City Library, Parkstraße 1.

The guest is Jan le Loux.

As a textile city, Enschede was also rich in music bands. In the second half of the 1960s, Enschede was a city with a diverse pop culture. The number of music groups grew and many bands could be heard weekly on the rock and pop stages of the time. The music was called “TextielBeat” in reference to the textile industry.

There is currently a foundation called TextielBeat with the aim of preserving and honoring the music culture of 1960s Enschede. To this end, events are organized with many local beat, blues and soul groups from the 1960s.

Jan le Loux will give a talk about this fascinating time, accompanied by music.

The presentation will be held in Dutch. The moderator, Secil Arda-Schiffel, will be available to translate the key points.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and discuss.

This is a suitable meeting place for anyone who would like to discuss social issues of cross-border relevance in an informal atmosphere and try out their German or Dutch language skills.

Admission is five euros including a drink. Pupils and students have free admission.
