Originally from Copenhagen, the concept of the human library can now be found all over the world. Not yet very widespread in Germany, this form of exchange can now be experienced in the Gronau public library.
In this case, the books are about people who have something to say and who, for various reasons, want to tell their own personal story. This is not about trivial matters.
Very personal feelings and experiences such as homelessness, illness or discrimination can and should be discussed, which can help others or break down prejudices and pigeonholing.
For 30 minutes at a time, a conversation partner, a human book, is available in a protected space. So these books literally have something to say: real stories from real life.
Gronau public library
Thursday, 15.05.25, 14:00 – 17:00
A time slot of 30 minutes per person can be booked on site.
Are you interested in making your story accessible to other people and being part of the human library? Then please get in touch with
